SAU Men's Basketball Drops Contest To Charleston, W.Va.

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 14) – Dhashon Dyson (So./Chicago, IL) poured in 23 points for Saint Augustine's University in a 62-59 men's basketball loss to Charleston, W.Va., in the MEC/PSAC/CIAA Tipoff Challenge on Saturday in Charleston, W.Va.

Kyshon Tate (Sr./Baltimore, MD) added 13 points and Josh Page (Sr./Washington, DC) chipped in eight points. Spencer Washington (So./Dallas, TX) grabbed eight rebounds and Christopher Hill (Jr./Charlotte, NC) had four rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Falcons.

Eddie Colbert and Lamont McManus each scored 16 points for Charleston (1-1 overall), who hosted the Tipoff Challenge.

The Falcons led 54-49 on Hill's three-pointer with 7:31 left but Charleston finished the game on a 13-5 run. SAU outshot its opponent 46 percent to 42 percent, but Charleston made 17 of 24 free throws compared to 5 of 8 for the Falcons and won the rebounding battle 33-23.

The Falcons (0-2 overall) hosts Virginia-Lynchburg in their home opener Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Emery Gymnasium. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
