ELIZABETH CITY, NC --The Saint Augustine's volleyball team fell to the Bluefield State Lady Blues 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 8-15) Saturday at R L Vaughan Center.
The loss dropped Saint Augustine's' record to 5-10 overall and 5-4 in CIAA play.
The Falcons were led by a double-double from La'Tavia Braynen, who registered 18 kills and 11 digs on the day. Kya Otis also added nine kills to help the offense.Sydney Moore also pitched in with five in the contest. On the defensive end, Nayara Pereira chipped in for with 15 digs to go with two blocks from Otis.

SET 3 | Saint Augustine's built on that second-set success with a victory in set number three to open up a lead at two sets to one. The Falcons persevered in a back-and-forth set to win 25-21 in a stanza that featured six lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way. The Saint Augustine's offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Saint Augustine's couldn't keep the win streak alive, as the Lady Blues forced a fifth set with a 25-23 fourth-set win. The Falcons fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set.
