ELIZABETH CITY, NC --The Saint Augustine's volleyball team fought back after dropping the first set to secure a 3-1 victory (14-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-22) against the Bowie State Bulldogs Saturday at R. L. Vaughan Center.
The conference win improved Saint Augustine's' record to 5-9 overall and 5-3 in CIAA play.
La'Tavia Braynen finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Falcons offense.Serena Edwards also pitched in with six in the contest. got 13 digs from Nayara Pereira to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Saint Augustine's responded to pick up a 25-17 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. Pinpoint serving helped the Falcons earn the set-two victory. Saint Augustine's notched five aces in the set win. The Falcons ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
SET 3 | Saint Augustine's went ahead 2-1 in the match after defeating the Bulldogs in the third set. The Falcons won the set 25-18 thanks to a strong showing on the attacking side. Saint Augustine's put together a .333 attack percentage with eight kills in the set win. The Falcons ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. The Saint Augustine's offense also got a boost from six aces in the stanza.
