CHAPEL HILL, NC --The Saint Augustine's men's basketball team could not keep up in a 117-53 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels on the road Friday.

Mac Hughes led the Falcons (0-0) with 16 points and two steals. Jefferson Youngblood tacked on nine points and Nemo Johnson chipped in as well with eight points.

How It Happened

Saint Augustine's struggled out of the gate, falling behind 65-26 heading into halftime.

North Carolina kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 77-31 advantage before Saint Augustine's went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Johnson's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 77-36 with 13:31 to go in the contest. North Carolina responded and outscored the Falcons the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 117-53.
