Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Lauren Banks' career-high 33 points leads SAU past Winston-Salem State University

Raleigh, NC. – The Saint Augustine's women's basketball team handled business at home in Emery Gymnasium for its second straight CIAA win. The story of the night was the play of sophomore guard, Lauren Banks who one-upped her red-hot shooting performance against Shaw, with a 33-point virtuoso performance against the Rams. For every WSSU run, Banks, along with several Lady Falcons were there to ensure their comeback efforts were null and void. The Lady Falcons' 91-80 victory is its second straight double-digit victory in CIAA play.

Outside of Lauren Banks' 33 points, the Lady Falcons were led by Taniyah Greene's double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, Ariyanna Brown with 11 points, and Raquel Cassidy was a force on the glass with 18 rebounds.

Head Coach Ebony Tanner Post game Comments

"The young ladies came into the game today kind of with the same mentality. We knew that we had to control the controllable. That was transition defense, rebounds, and our own turnovers, and that was the focus for today's game."
