Five Falcons score in double digits in Saint Augustine's 71-69 win against Bowie State

RALEIGH, NC --Five Falcons scored at least 10 points and Saint Augustine's defeated the Bowie State Bulldogs 71-69 at home Saturday.

The Falcons (7-8, 3-3) had five players score in double figures, led by Jawan Browder, who had 16 points and two steals. Nemo Johnson tacked on 15 points, nine rebounds, three steals and four blocks and Jordan Love chipped in as well with 15 points.

Saint Augustine's pulled down 36 rebounds in Saturday's game compared to Bowie State's 29, led by Johnson's nine boards.

Saint Augustine's did a great job disrupting Bowie State shots in the contest, coming away with seven blocks. Johnson's four rejections led the way individually for the Falcons.

How It Happened

After jumping out to a 9-7 advantage, Saint Augustine's went on an 11-0 run with 13:37 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Johnson, to increase its lead to 20-7. The Falcons then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 37-28 advantage. Saint Augustine's got a great contribution from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 14 of its 37 total points.
