RALEIGH, NC --The Saint Augustine's men's basketball team held Winston-Salem to just 18.8 percent from deep in a 3-for-16 shooting performance on the way to a 60-56 victory over the Rams at home Wednesday.
The Falcons (12-11, 8-6) had three players score in double figures, led by Nemo Johnson, who had 14 points, four steals and six blocks. Kaleb Glasper added 11 points from the bench and Jordan Love helped out with 10 points.
Saint Augustine's did a great job disrupting Winston-Salem shots in the contest, coming away with eight blocks. Johnson's six rejections led the way individually for the Falcons.
How It Happened
After falling behind 21-20, Saint Augustine's went on a 5-0 run with 4:55 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Glasper, to take a 25-21 lead. The Falcons then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 30-27.
After intermission, Saint Augustine's came back to even it up at 32-32 before going on a 7-0 run to seize a 39-32 lead with 14:42 to go in the contest. The Rams narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Falcons still held on for the 60-56 win. Saint Augustine's got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 10 of its 33 total points.
