WINGATE, N.C.. – Saint Augustine's College lost 3-0 to both Wingate and Anderson on Friday (Sept. 4) at the Wingate Volleyball Invitational hosted by Wingate University.

The Lady Falcons (0-6) were defeated by a score of 25-16, 25-21, 25-14 to Anderson, and 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 to Wingate. Both Anderson (4-0) and Wingate (5-0) are undefeated.

Stephony Newkirk (Jr./Greenville, N.C.) led the Lady Falcons with seven kills against Anderson. Shakira Carter (Jr./St. Michael, Barbados) added 17 digs and Roxanne Smith (Soph./St. Catherine, Jamaica) had 19 assists for the Lady Falcons. Jamie Lancaster led Anderson with 16 kills.

Both Carter and Newkirk led the Lady Falcons with seven kills each against Wingate. Carter added 9 digs and Smith tallied 17 assists. Jacki Emmenecker led the Wingate with 12 kills.

The Lady Falcons face the same opponents again on Saturday. They play Anderson at 11:00 a.m. and Wingate at 3:00 p.m.
