Lady Falcons Defeat Voorhees For Sixth Consecutive Win

DENMARK, S.C. - Saint Augustine's College showed no signs of a letdown in a 3-0 non-conference victory over Voorhees College on Wednesday.

The Lady Falcons (12-5 overall) were coming off an emotional win over Fayetteville State Tuesday for first place in the CIAA's Southern Division. Playing on little rest, the Lady Falcons made quick work of Voorhees, winning 25-7, 25-12, 25-20 for their sixth straight victory.

Kathryn Tokarski (Jr./Saskatchewan, Canada) earned a match-high 14 kills and eight digs to spark the Lady Falcons. Brittany Hicks (Soph./Louisburg, N.C.) added eight kills and two blocks and Roxanne Smith (Jr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) dished out 34 assists while Nicolette Campbell (Jr./Nassau, Bahamas) contributed a match-high 16 digs.

"We are headed in the right direction," Lady Falcon Head Coach Covance Mortimer said. "Our effort has to get more consistent but once we do that then we will be playing top-notch ball."

The Lady Falcons collected 41 kills and 12 service aces against Voorhees (0-4 overall). Campbell led the way with four service aces. Their attack percentage was .371.

The Lady Falcons conclude this week's three-match road swing on Friday. They visit the University of District of Columbia in a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
