Lady Falcons Lose On Road To Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - For the second consecutive night, Kathryn Tokarski (Sr./Saskatchewan, Canada) led Saint Augustine's College in kills. Unlike last night, however, the Lady Falcons were defeated - 3-0 in a road match to Mount Olive College on Wednesday (Oct. 12).

The Lady Falcons' record dipped to 8-14 overall, while Mount Olive evened its record at 10-10. The victory gave Mount Olive a season sweep of the series.

Tokarski had team-highs of 11 kills and 10 digs for the Lady Falcons. In Tuesday's 3-1 victory over Shaw, Tokarski tallied a season-high 23 kills. Against Mount Olive, Victoria Davis (Soph./San Diego, Calif.) added eight kills, eight digs and five blocking assists while Roxanne Smith (Sr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) had 25 assists.

Though the Lady Falcons lost in three sets, Tokarski helped keep the games close. The Lady Falcons barely lost the first set 27-25, and the other two scores were 25-18. Mount Olive gained the victory behind the play of Carly White (16 kills) and Erika Connor (11 kills).

This was the first of three consecutive road matches for the Lady Falcons, who visit Johnson C. Smith Oct. 18 in Charlotte, N.C. Match time is 6 p.m.
