Lady Falcons Sweep JCSU 3-0

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kathryn Tokarski (Sr./Saskatchewan, Canada) paced Saint Augustine's College to an easy 3-0 volleyball victory over Johnson C. Smith University Tuesday (Oct. 18) at Brayboy Gym.

Tokarski was the only player in double figures in kills (12) for the Lady Falcons, who won their second in a row over a CIAA opponent. Her attack percentage of .318 helped the Lady Falcons finish off the Lady Golden Bulls 25-16, 25-13, 25-11.

Tokarski was backed by a solid supporting cast. Brittany Hicks (Jr./Louisburg, N.C.) added eight kills, Victoria Davis (Soph./San Diego, Calif.) chipped in seven kills and Keisha Parris (St. Catherine, Jamaica) contributed six kills. Roxanne Smith (Sr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) had 17 assists and five service aces.

The Lady Falcons remained in third place in the Southern Division at 4-3. They are 9-14 overall and 9-4 in the CIAA.  The Lady Golden Bulls (4-18, 2-10 CIAA) are still winless in the Southern Division at 0-6. The Lady Falcons take the season series 2-0.

The Lady Falcons hit the road for another match Wednesday (Oct. 19), this time against Claflin in Orangeburg, S.C. Match time is 6 p.m.
