Lady Falcons Lose To FSU 3-0

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.- Keisha Parris (Sr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) picked up a match-high 11 kills but Saint Augustine's College couldn't avoid its third straight defeat in a 3-0 volleyball loss to Fayetteville State Monday (Sept. 26) at Capel Arena.

The Lady Falcons dropped to 6-10 overall including 6-3 in the CIAA. More importantly, they fell to 1-2 in the Southern Division.

Kathryn Tokarski (Sr./Saskatchewan, Canada) added seven kills while Victoria Davis (Soph./San Diego, Calif.) and Brittany Hicks (Sr./Louisburg, N.C.) both chipped in five kills. Roxanne Smith (Sr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) had 23 assists for the Lady Falcons.

Ifeyinwa Nwokolo and Nikita Cheadle both had nine kills for the Lady Broncos (12-9, 8-2 CIAA), who remained atop the Southern Division at 3-0. JaMisha Jordan collected 32 assists and Decausha McLean had 15 digs.

The Lady Broncos won by a 25-20, 25-17, 25-23 score. They had a higher attack percentage (.267 to .213) and more service aces (8 to 2).

The Lady Falcons return home Tuesday (Sept. 27) for a non-conference matchup against Mount Olive. The match begins 6 p.m. inside Emery Gymnasium.
