Lady Falcons Earn First Two Volleyball Victories of the Season

LINCOLN, Pa. – Saint Augustine's University picked up its first two wins of the season on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at CIAA Round-Up I held at Lincoln (Pa.) University. The Lady Falcons defeated Bowie State University 25-16, 25-22, 16-25, 26-24 and Virginia Union University 25-22, 25-21, 27-25. The victories give the Lady Falcons a 2-0 CIAA record.

In the win over Bowie State, Victoria Davis (Jr./San Diego, Calif.) led the Lady Falcons with nine kills while Brittany Hicks (Sr./Louisburg, N.C.) and Na'Chanelle Brown (Fr./Columbia, S.C.) both added seven kills apiece. Julieesa Thomas (Fr./St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) added 28 assists, six service aces and 10 digs, and Chelsea Farrior (So./Tampa, Fla.) contributed 18 digs. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Paige McIntosh with seven kills and 10 digs while Kasi Eisenzimmer added 16 assists. Marissa Martinez finished with 19 digs.

Against Virginia Union, Jamie Goff (Jr./Rubonia, Fla.) had a team-high 10 kills for the Lady Falcons. Thomas collected 21 assists and four service aces while Farrior totaled four service aces and 12 assists. Kristal Woodard led VUU with 12 kills and five digs.

The Lady Falcons (2-6 overall) completes play in the CIAA Round-Up on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012. They play host Lincoln (Pa.) at 11 a.m.
