FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Saint Augustine's University volleyball team lost to Chowan University and Virginia State University by identical 3-0 scores on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Capel Arena on the campus of Fayetteville State University.

The Lady Falcons lost to Chowan 21-25, 20-25, 16-25 in a rematch of the last two CIAA championship matches. Brittany Hicks (Sr./Louisburg, N.C.) led the Lady Falcons with seven kills and Julieesa Thomas (Fr./St. Croix, US VI) contributed 20 assists. Chelsea Farrior(So./Tampa, Fla.)  had 12 digs for the Lady Falcons. Karina Monroe led Chowan with nine kills.

The Lady Falcons lost to Virginia State 13-25, 18-25, 15-25 in their second match of the day. Hicks and Jamie Goff (Jr./Rubonia, Fla.) both paced the Lady Falcons with seven kills each.Thomas had team highs of 22 assists and seven digs while Na'Chanelle Brown (Fr./Columbia, S.C.) had three blocking assists. Whitley Bradley led VSU with 11 kills.

The Lady Falcons fell to 4-12 overall and 4-4 in the CIAA. They play again on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, against Elizabeth City State at 11 a.m. on the final day of the Round-Up.
