Richards, Davis of St. Aug Win CIAA Football Honors

Box Score Brian Richards (R-Sr./Waldorf, MD) of Saint Augustine's University was named receiver of the week and teammate Cyril Davis (R-Fr./Orangeburg, SC) was chosen rookie of the week in football by the CIAA on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

A 6-3, 205-pound wide receiver, Richards caught six passes for 154 yards and one touchdown in a 13-6 win over Johnson C. Smith University on Senior Day this past Saturday. He scored on an 89-yard pass play which is one of the longest in school history. He also caught a 50-yard pass in the game. Richards is the school's career receptions leader.

A 6-2, 170-pound quarterback, Davis came off the bench in the second half and threw two touchdown passes to lead St. Aug to victory over Johnson C. Smith. His touchdown passes were 89 and 65 yards. He completed 6 of 13 passes for 187 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions and was not sacked. This was the first game of his college career.
