RALEIGH, N.C. - Fresh off its first Southern Division victory of the season this week, Saint Augustine's University looks to extend its win streak when the Lady Falcons visit crosstown rival Shaw University in Spaulding Gymnasium on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 7 p.m.

The Lady Falcons (1-3 Southern Division, 4-6 CIAA, 4-11 overall) enter the Shaw match with momentum on their side. They nearly upset two-time defending CIAA champion Fayetteville State University in a five-set loss on October 2. One day ago, the Lady Falcons defeated Livingstone College in an impressive three-set victory.

The Lady Falcons will rely on
Olivia Porter (So./Bakersfield, CA) and a host of other Lady Falcons against the Lady Bears. Porter leads the Lady Falcons with 2.96 kills per set.
Juliseea Thomas (Jr./St. Croix, US VI) averages 4.49 assists per set while
Marley Parker (Fr./Langley, British Columbia) and
Meghan Mahon (So./Houston, TX) share the team lead with 3.29 digs per set.
Mikayla Pettyjohn (Fr./Jamestown, NC) has 48 total blocks which places her among the CIAA leaders.

The Lady Bears (0-4 Southern Division, 0-10 CIAA, 0-12 overall) are paced by team kills leader Ladazia Burris and Courtnie Cook, who leads the team with 4.93 assists per set. Tiffany Brooks averages 2.89 digs per set and Briana Wilson has 21 blocks.
