RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University will host Johnson C. Smith University in its home volleyball opener at Emery Gymnasium on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
 
The Lady Falcons are led by a quartet of players. Olivia Porter (So./Bakersfield, CA) ranks fourth in the CIAA in kills per set (2.77) and fifth in total kills (72).  Mikayla Pettyjohn (Fr./Jamestown, NC) ranks third in total blocks (25) and tied for fourth in blocks per set (0.96) and solo blocks (10). She also ranks fourth in the conference in blocking assists (15) and tied for 10^th in service aces (11).
 
Meghan Mahon (So./Houston, TX) ranks third in the CIAA in digs (97) and fifth in digs per set (3.73). Juliseea Thomas (Jr./St. Croix, US VI) is sixth in the league in assists (118) and eighth in assists per set (4.54).
 
This is the Southern Division opener for both teams. The Lady Falcons are 1-2 in the CIAA and 1-6 overall while the Lady Golden Bulls are 2-1 in the CIAA and 2-2 overall. Smith is led by Kathleen Janda, who ranks 10^th in the CIAA in kills per set (2.36) and fifth in hitting percentage (.296). Jane Tukia ranks fourth in assists per set (6.00) and eighth in assists (84).
