Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO, N.C. –
Olivia Porter (Soph./Bakersfield, CA) of Saint Augustine's University totaled 22 kills and 20 digs in two matches on the second and final day of the Janet Collins Volleyball Invitational at the Helms Center on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
Mikaya Pettyjohn (Fr./Jamestown, NC) added 17 kills and
Danyelle Noland (Fr./Nashville, NC) had 15 kills in both matches combined for the Lady Falcons.
Meghan Mahon (Soph./Houston, TX) tallied 30 digs and Julieesa Thomas (Jr./St. Croix US VI) accumulated 43 assists and 29 digs on the second day.
Porter accumulated 18 kills and 12 digs in a close four-set loss (22-25, 25-21, 21-25, 24-26) to Converse College. Pettyjohn added 13 kills and Noland contributed 10 kills while Thomas had 29 assists and 23 digs. Mahon led the Lady Falcons with 25 digs while
Elisa Ray (Fr./Nashville, TN) collected 14 digs and
Akera McPhaul (Fr./Greensboro, NC) had 12 digs.
Noland registered five kills while Porter and Pettyjohn each had four kills for the Lady Falcons in a three-set (12-25, 19-25, 9-25) defeat to Chowan University, which hosted the Invitational. Thomas led the Lady Falcons with 14 assists and Porter had a team-high eight digs.
The Lady Falcons return to Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C. this weekend for the first CIAA Volleyball Round-Up of the season. They will play Chowan University at noon and Virginia State University at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 13. On Sunday, September 14, the Lady Falcons will face Elizabeth City State University at 3 p.m.
