SAU Volleyball Team To Host William Peace On Wednesday, Sept. 9

RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) will host William Peace University in a non-conference women's volleyball match at Emery Gymnasium on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

The meeting between SAU and William Peace is the first between the neighboring Universities in recent memory. Both teams will face each other again on William Peace's campus next Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m.

The Lady Falcons are led by Preseason All-CIAA selection Olivia Porter (Jr./Bakersfield, CA). She ranks first in kills (43), second in kills per set (3.91) and fourth in digs per set (3.27) in the CIAA.

Newcomer Zoey Isom (Fr./Phoenix, AZ) is making an immediate impact for the Lady Falcons. She leads the CIAA in digs (65) and digs per set (5.91). Juliseea Thomas (Sr./St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) ranks fourth in assists (51) and fifth in digs (34) in the CIAA.

William Peace enters the match with a 3-2 overall record. They are led by middle blocker Tempestt Frazier, setter Liana Solomon and specialist Carson Williams.

This will be the fourth consecutive home match for the Lady Falcons, who opened the season by hosting the Lady Falcon Challenge. The Lady Falcons finished the weekend with a 1-2 overall record after defeating Glenville State College in five sets and losing to both North Greenville University and West Virginia State University in three sets.
