Lady Falcons Fall In Three Sets To Their Crosstown Rival

RALEIGH, NC (Oct 13) – On Thursday evening, Shakera Hall (So./Bridgetown, Barbados) recorded 14 kills for Saint Augustine's University in a 3-0 CIAA volleyball loss to Shaw University at Spaulding Gymnasium.

The Lady Falcons dropped to 2-3 in the Southern Division and 7-10 overall. The Lady Bears improved to 4-0 in the division and 13-5 overall.

The Lady Bears won 25-11, 25-14, 25-15 to maintain their hold on first place in the division. The Lady Falcons are fourth in the division standings.

Meghan Mahon (Sr./Houston, TX) added 19 assists for the Lady Falcons. Keveesha Wattley led the Lady Bears with 11 kills and Michelle Olmeda-Gonzalez contributed 28 assists. Kelly Murphy chipped in eight digs.

The Lady Falcons return to action against Johnson C. Smith University on Monday, Oct. 17. The match begins at 6 p.m. inside Brayboy Gymnasium in Charlotte, N.C.
