Shakera Hall Records 22 Kills and 12 Digs In The Win

RALEIGH, NC (Oct 17) – On Monday, Shakera Hall (So./Bridgetown, Barbados) registered 22 kills and 12 digs to lead Saint Augustine's University to a 3-0 CIAA volleyball win over Johnson C. Smith University at Brayboy Gymnasium in Charlotte, N.C.

Akera McPhaul (Jr./Greensboro, NC) added eight kills and Meghan Mahon (Sr./Houston, TX) dished out 39 assists for the Lady Falcons, who won 30-28, 25-21, 25-15 to up their record to 3-3 in the Southern Division and 8-10 overall. Olivia Porter (Sr./Bakersfield, CA), returning from an ankle injury after missing eight matches, posted six digs.

Anteesha Smoots led Johnson C. Smith with eight kills and Azha McNeil contributed 21 assists. Georgina Diaz finished with nine digs for the Golden Bulls, who fell to 0-5 in the Southern Division and 3-12 overall.

The Lady Falcons swept the season series against the Golden Bulls. In the first meeting on Sept. 22, the Lady Falcons won in four sets at Emery Gymnasium in Raleigh, N.C.

The Lady Falcons return to the court Tuesday, Oct. 25 against Winston-Salem State University. Match time is 6 p.m. at Emery Gymnasium.
