Lady Falcons Take On Four Opponents In Two Days
RALEIGH, NC (Sept 2) – The Saint Augustine's University women's volleyball team makes its 2016 debut at the Virginia State Tournament this weekend.
The Lady Falcons take on four opponents in two days. They face Pfeiffer University at 12 p.m. and Virginia Union University at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3. The site is Daniel Gymnasium on the Virginia State University campus in Ettrick, Va.
On Sunday, Sept. 4, the Lady Falcons play two more opponents at a different location. They square off against Virginia State at 11 a.m. and Methodist University at 3 p.m. The matches will be held at Barco-Stevens Hall on the Virginia Union campus in Richmond, Va.
Eight lettermen return for the Lady Falcons including Preseason All-CIAA picks Olivia Porter (Sr./Bakersfield, CA) and Zoey Isom (So./Phoenix, AZ). Porter earned All-CIAA postseason honors last season as an outside hitter and Isom was selected to the All-CIAA squad and named CIAA Rookie of the Year as a freshman libero.
The other returnees are setter Meghan Mahon (Sr./Houston, TX), middle blocker Akera McPhaul (Jr./Greensboro, NC), utility player Marley Parker (Jr./Langley, British Columbia), utility player Elisa Ray (Jr./Nashville, TN), outside hitter Shakera Hall (So./Bridgetown, Barbados) and middle blocker Brittany Jamison (So./Summerville, SC). Serita Wilson is the new head coach.
