Lady Falcons Top Pfeiffer In Three Sets 

RALEIGH, NC (Sept 3) – Saint Augustine's University won its first season opener in volleyball since 2006.

The Lady Falcons defeated Pfeiffer in three sets on the first day of the VSU Tournament in Ettrick, Va. The final score was 25-15, 25-20, 30-28.

Later in the day, the Lady Falcons pushed Virginia Union University to five sets before falling 3-2 (25-20, 17-25, 19-25, 25-19, 7-15). They completed the first day of the VSU Tournament with a 1-1 record.

Against Pfeiffer, the trio of Olivia Porter (Sr./Bakersfield, CA), Shakera Hall (So./Bridgetown, Barbados) and Akera McPhaul (Jr./Greensboro, NC) finished with six kills apiece. Meghan Mahon (Sr./Houston, TX) totaled 21 assists and Zoey Isom (So./Phoenix, AZ) had 12 digs.

Against Virginia Union, Porter amassed team highs of 24 kills, 19 digs, eight assists and five solo blocks. Hall added 14 kills and nine digs while McPhaul chipped in nine kills, nine digs and six block assists.
