Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 9) – Saint Augustine's University rolled over Livingstone College 3-1 in a CIAA volleyball match Monday at New Trent Gymnasium in Salisbury, N.C. The win was the first in the Southern Division this season for the Lady Falcons, who won 25-15, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20.
Everyone contributed in the Lady Falcons' victory. Shakera Hall (Jr./Bridgetown, Barbados) had a match-high 17 kills, six digs and four assists, and Mechelle Moss (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) recorded 10 kills, seven digs and two service aces. Taylor Irving (Fr./Litchfield, AZ) finished with nine kills, 18 assists, six digs and four service aces.
Zoey Isom (Jr./Phoenix, AZ) added 12 digs and two service aces, and Marley Parker (Sr./Langley, British Columbia) tallied five kills, five assists and 11 digs. Chandra Mackey (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) and Alyssa Smith (Fr./Orangeburg, SC) each contributed three kills with Mackey adding three service aces and Smith registering four assists. The Lady Falcons (1-3 Southern Division, 4-6 CIAA, 4-6 overall) totaled 11 service aces in the match.
Livingstone was led by Jekisha Rhymes with nine kills and Ajia Long with eight kills. Kierra Acuff had 17 assists and 15 digs for the Lady Blue Bears (0-4 Southern Division, 3-7 CIAA, 3-10 overall).
The Lady Falcons host archrival Shaw University at Emery Gymnasium on Thursday, Oct. 12. The match begins at 6 p.m.
