SAU Volleyball Falls To Johnson C. Smith

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 21) – NCAA Division II national kills leader Shakera Hall (Jr./Bridgetown, Barbados) collected a match-high 21 kills and added 10 digs for Saint Augustine's University in a 3-0 CIAA volleyball loss to Johnson C. Smith University at Brayboy Gymnasium in Charlotte, N.C.

 

The match was the CIAA Southern Division opener for the Lady Falcons, who won the previous four meetings against the Golden Bulls. Taylor Irving (Fr./Litchfield, AZ) dished out 22 assists and Zoey Isom (Jr./Phoenix, AZ) added 12 digs for the Lady Falcons, who lost 20-25, 16-25, 16-25.

 

Karina Pressoir registered eight kills and Anteesha Smoots added seven kills for the Golden Bulls (4-0 CIAA, 5-0 overall). Azha McNeil finished with 13 assists.

 

The Lady Falcons (1-3 CIAA, 1-3 overall) make their home debut this season on Monday, Sept. 25 against Southern Division foe Winston-Salem State University at Emery Gymnasium. Match time is 6 p.m.
