SAU Volleyball Falls To Winston-Salem State

RALEIGH, NC (Sept. 25) – Shakera Hall (Jr./Bridgetown, Barbados) registered 11 kills and Zoey Isom (Jr./Phoenix, AZ) totaled 14 digs for Saint Augustine's University in a 3-0 CIAA Southern Division volleyball loss to Winston-Salem State University at Emery Gymnasium.

Taylor Irving (Fr./Litchfield, AZ) collected 17 assists and six digs while Mechelle Moss (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) had five kills and six digs for the Lady Falcons, who lost 18-25, 8-25, 17-25. Elisa Ray (Sr./Nashville, TN) finished with seven digs and Chandra Mackey (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) tallied four blocks.

Christa Brown had six kills and four blocks and Brycelin Spidel had seven blocks for the Rams (2-0 Southern Division, 5-0 CIAA, 8-3 overall), who amassed 12 blocks and 11 service aces. Mia Herrod contributed five kills and four blocks and Jasmine Smith finished with five kills and four service aces.

The Lady Falcons (0-2 Southern Division, 1-4 CIAA, 1-4 overall) head to Petersburg, Va., this weekend for the CIAA Roundup II. They play three matches on the Virginia State University campus Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
