RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 30) – Saint Augustine's University blanked Bowie State University and Elizabeth City State University by 3-0 scores in the CIAA Volleyball Roundup II on the Virginia State University campus in Ettrick, Va.

The victories improved the Lady Falcons' record to 3-4 in the CIAA and 3-4 overall. The Lady Falcons won back-to-back matches for the first time this season.

Shakera Hall (Jr./Bridgetown, Barbados) and Mechelle Moss (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) powered the Lady Falcons to a 25-21, 25-17, 25-12 win over Bowie State (0-7 CIAA, 0-13 overall). Hall collected 13 kills and Moss had nine kills and six digs.

Taylor Irving (Fr./Litchfield, AZ) was credited with 23 assists and five service aces and Zoey Isom (Jr./Phoenix, AZ) contributed 12 digs and three service aces. Chandra Mackey (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) pitched in five service aces.

Hall produced 18 kills in a 25-14, 25-6, 25-22 triumph over Elizabeth City State (2-7 CIAA, 2-15 overall). Irving added 18 assists and eight digs and Isom chipped in 19 digs and three service aces. Moss finished with seven digs.

The Lady Falcons face host Virginia State on Sunday, Oct. 1, the final day of the Roundup. The match starts at 1 p.m.
