SAU Volleyball Visits Fayetteville State In CIAA Divisional Matchup Thursday, Sept. 27

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 26) – Saint Augustine's University heads to Fayetteville, N.C., on Thursday, Sept. 27, to face Fayetteville State University in a CIAA Southern Division volleyball match at Capel Arena.

The Lady Falcons are coming off a successful weekend at the CIAA Round-Up II in Richmond, Va. They won two out of three matches including a 3-1 win over Bowie State University and a 3-0 triumph over Lincoln (Pa.) University on Saturday, Sept. 22. Their only loss was to Virginia Union University, the Round-Up host, on Sunday, Sept. 23, by a 3-0 score.

The offensive leaders for the Lady Falcons are Brittany Jamison (Jr./Charleston, SC) and Janina Mayers (Fr./Christ Church, Barbados). Jamison averages 1.74 kills per set and Mayers averages 1.42 kills per set in addition to a team-high 3.81 digs per set, which is fourth-best in the CIAA.

Zoey Isom (Sr./Phoenix, AZ) averages 5.00 assists per set and 2.97 digs per set. She also has a team-high nine service aces.

Bojo Jada averages 2.17 kills and Chynna Hunt averages 2.14 kills per set for the Broncos, who are playing their first match since Sept. 9 due to Hurricane Florence. Nakia Mckinnie leads the Broncos in assists per set (3.74) and Meagan Greene is the team leader in digs per set (3.25).

The Lady Falcons are 0-1 in the Southern Division, 3-4 in the CIAA and 3-7 overall. The Broncos are 0-0 in the Southern Division, 1-2 in the CIAA and 1-7 overall.
