SAU Volleyball Hosts Claflin Monday On Senior Night

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 31) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) hosts Claflin in a key CIAA volleyball match at Emery Gymnasium on Monday, Nov. 1. The match begins at 6 p.m. Four Lady Falcons will be recognized on Senior Night. They are Tia Jones (Sr./Bridgetown, Barbados), Janina Mayers (Sr./Christ Church, Barbados), Lisanne Roofe (Sr./Spanish Town, Jamaica) and Malique Webb (Sr./St. Catherine, Jamaica). This is SAU's final home match of the regular season. The Lady Falcons can move up the Southern Division standings and possibly host a CIAA Tournament first-round match with a win over Claflin. The CIAA Volleyball Tournament starts Nov. 16. SAU is tied for third in the division at 4-3 and Claflin is second at 5-2. The top two teams in the division will play their first-round matches at home, while the third and fourth place teams will play their opening playoff matches on the road. The Lady Falcons (8-12 overall) look to avenge an earlier loss to Claflin (11-9 overall) in the first meeting on Oct. 11. Claflin won 3-0.
