SAU Volleyball Tops Lincoln (Pa.), Plays Tough In Two Losses At CIAA Round-Up I

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 4) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU) continues to show it is a much-improved volleyball team from previous years.

The Lady Falcons defeated Lincoln (Pa.) at the CIAA Round-Up I on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C., for their third consecutive victory. It was their first three-match win streak since 2015.

SAU has already reached three victories this season, which matches the win total from the last two years combined.

The win streak ended later in the day in a four-set loss to Virginia State, but the Lady Falcons had no reason to hang their heads. Virginia State is unbeaten in CIAA matches and is tied for first in the Northern Division.

On Sunday, the Lady Falcons faced another tough opponent in the roundup. Elizabeth City State, also tied for first in the Northern Division, entered the matchup against SAU with 10 consecutive victories.

The Lady Falcons (3-2 CIAA, 3-7 overall) fell to Elizabeth City State in three sets but gained valuable experience playing two league contenders on back-to-back days.

Despite the 1-2 record in the roundup, the Lady Falcons remain Southern Division tri-leaders with a 2-0 division record. They return to action in the division against Livingstone on Thursday, Oct. 7, at Emery Gymnasium. The home match begins at 6 p.m.
