SAU Volleyball Visits Fayetteville State In CIAA Quarterfinals Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 15) – No. 7 seed Saint Augustine's University visits No. 2 seed Fayetteville State in a CIAA volleyball quarterfinal match at Capel Arena on Tuesday. The match starts at 6 p.m.

The top eight teams during the regular season advanced to the CIAA Volleyball Tournament. The top four teams will host quarterfinal matches.

This is the Lady Falcons first appearance in the CIAA Volleyball Tournament since 2016. They were 7-9 in the CIAA and 9-14 overall during the regular season after posting a winless record in 2019. The season was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Broncos are the defending CIAA champions. They finished 14-2 in the CIAA and 20-6 overall in the regular season.

Fayetteville State captured the Southern Division with a 10-0 mark. The Lady Falcons tied for third in the Southern Division at 5-5.

The winner will face either Elizabeth City State or Winston-Salem State in the semifinals, which will be played in Bowie, Md., on Nov. 20.
