Former SAU Linebacker Invited To Inaugural HBCU Combine In April

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 25) – Former Saint Augustine's University linebacker Durrell Nash was invited to the inaugural HBCU Combine set for April 9-10 at the University of Alabama-Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala.

The HBCU Combine is a platform for draft eligible HBCU football players to showcase their athletic abilities and skills in front of pro football scouts from the NFL, CFL and XFL.  Nash is among 42 former college players, including eight from the CIAA, on the HBCU Combine roster.

In addition to on-field drills and tests, participants will be timed, interviewed one-on-one, and videotaped by pro scouts. They will complete classroom sessions focused on career transition plans, financial literacy, and evaluation criteria used by pro scouts.

A Chicago, Ill., native, Nash was an All-CIAA, All-Region, honorable mention All-American and BOXTOROW HBCU All-American in his lone season with the Falcons in 2019. He led the CIAA in total tackles (92) and tackles per game (10.2) and ranked 18th nationally among Division II players in tackles per game that season.
