SAU Volleyball Visits Winston-Salem State Monday

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 26) – Saint Augustine's University (SAU), riding high from its conference opening win last week, visits Winston-Salem State in a CIAA Southern Division volleyball match at Whitaker Gymnasium in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Monday, Sept. 27. Match time is 6 p.m.

The Lady Falcons (1-5 overall, 1-0 CIAA Southern Division) are coming off a three-set win over Johnson C. Smith at home last week. The victory ended a 34-match losing streak.

Maegan Williams (Fr./Durham, NC) sparked the Lady Falcons with nine kills and three service aces. Madison Jones (Fr./Durham, NC) added seven kills and Janina Mayers (Sr./Christ Church, Barbados) finished with 11 digs. Zakiya Freeman (Fr./Riverdale, Ga.) led the team with 12 assists.

SAU is looking to end a 10-match losing streak against the Rams (1-3 overall, 0-1 CIAA Southern Division), who lost to Fayetteville State in their conference opener on the road last week. Raven Gray tallied 14 kills and 10 digs against the Broncos.
