RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 6) - The Saint Augustine's University (SAU) volleyball team will compete for the first time in two years when it hosts the SAU Quad Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Emery Gymnasium. Attendance will be limited due to COVID-19 protocol.
The Lady Falcons will play three of four matches in their invitational. The other teams participating are crosstown rival Shaw, West Virginia State and Bluefield State. Below is the match schedule.
12 p.m. - West Virginia State vs. SAU
2 p.m. - West Virginia State vs. Shaw
4 p.m. - Bluefield State vs. SAU
6 p.m. - Shaw vs. SAU

Coached by Tacara Moxey, the SAU roster includes four returnees from the 2019 squad. The Lady Falcons did not compete last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lady Falcons are led by middle blocker Tia Jones (Sr./Bridgetown, Barbados), libero/defensive specialist Janina Mayers (Sr./Christ Church, Barbados), outside hitter Deandra Small (Sr./St. Philip, Barbados) and setter Malique Webb (Sr./St. Catherine, Jamaica).
Moxey is in her first season as full-time head coach after leading the Lady Falcons as an interim head coach in 2019. Her assistants are Romel Lightbourn and Samantha Fisher.
