GREENSBORO, N.C. (April 24) – Led by the men's 4x400 relay team, Saint Augustine's University ran three national qualifying times in the Aggie Classic track & field meet at Truist Stadium over the weekend.
On Saturday, April 23, the squad of Bethwel Cheruiyot (So./Nairobi, Kenya), Jarvis Dudley (So./Fayetteville, NC), Sean Kalawan (So./Westmoreland, Jamaica) and Robert Walker (Jr./Newburgh, NY) won the men's 4x400 relay in 3:11.83, which ranks eighth nationally in NCAA Division II this season. The victory was the second straight and fourth overall in six outdoor meets this season for the men's 4x400 relay team, which placed second in the other two outdoor meets.
Individually, Kalawan and Walker both ran provisional qualifying times to finish fifth and seventh, respectively, in the men's 400 hurdles on Friday, April 22. Kalawan and Walker were first and second, respectively, in their heat.
Kalawan's time of 52.21 ranks 12th in the nation among Division II hurdlers this season. Walker was right behind at 52.22 to rank 13th in the nation.
