RALEIGH, N.C. (March 25) – Led by the men's and women's 4x400 relay teams, Saint Augustine's University ran three national qualifying times in the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track over the weekend.
The men's squad of Isaiah Chapman (Jr./Raleigh, NC), Shawn Walls (Fr./Durham, NC), Sean Kalawan (Jr./Westmoreland, Jamaica) and Kailen Perry (Fr./Raleigh, NC) placed fifth the men's 4x400 relay in 3:13.71, which ranks seventh nationally in NCAA Division II this season. The women's squad of Cache Miller (Fr./Tampa, FL), Malaysia Johnson (Fr./Fort Lauderdale, FL), Christabelle Obi (Fr./Ypsilanti, MI), and Shaunece Miller (Fr./Nassau, Bahamas) placed nineteenth in the women's 4x400 relay in 3:49.02, which also ranks seventh nationally in NCAA Division II this season.
Individually, Kalawan ran a provisional qualifying time to finish fourth in the men's 400 hurdles.
Kalawan's time of 51.90 ranks 5th in the nation among Division II hurdlers this season. Chapman placed ninth in the men's 400 hurdles with a time of 53.45.
