Falcons Dismantle Lincoln (Pa.) 97-65

RALEIGH, N.C. – Sharpshooting guard Chris Jordan (Jr./Houston, Texas) scored a game-high 27 points, and every player scored for Saint Augustine's College in a 97-65 rout of Lincoln (Pa.) University in a non-conference basketball game on Monday (Jan. 4) at Emery Gymnasium.

 

The Falcons dressed 13 players, and they all scored against the Lions. Nine players scored six or more points for the Falcons (9-2 overall), whose 32-point win was the second-largest this season. The 97 points were a team-high this season for the Falcons.

 

Jordan, one of the top three-point CIAA shooters, was deadly from the outside. He made 8 of 11 field goals including 5 of 7 from three-point range.

 

Forward Hayward Fain (Jr./Akron, Ohio) added 11 points and forward Kalvin Patterson (Sr./Rocky Mount, N.C.) had nine points and three blocks. Guard Brandon Hickson (Sr./Columbia, S.C.) dished out a game-high 10 assists with zero turnovers for the Falcons, who had 21 assists on 33 field goals.

 

Steven Brignol (Sr./Brooklyn, N.Y.) collected 10 rebounds for the Falcons, who outrebounded the Lions 60-45. The Falcons dominated inside, outscoring the Lions (1-8 overall) 44-20 in the paint.

 

Darren Clark paced the Lions with 19 points followed by Denzel Mooney with 15 points and Ladaye Johnson with 14 points. But the Falcons held the Lions to 26 percent shooting including 21 percent in the first half when the Falcons opened a 50-24 halftime lead.

 

The Falcons head to Richmond, Va., on Saturday (Jan. 9) to play Virginia Union University in a CIAA contest. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
