RICHMOND, Va. – Saint Augustine's College pulled even late against Virginia Union University after trailing by 10 points at halftime, but the Panthers outscored the Falcons 16-4 in the final five minutes for a 57-45 CIAA basketball win on Saturday (Jan. 9) at Barco-Stevens Arena.

The Falcons, down 30-20 at the half, tied the score at 41-41 on Keith McAllister's (So./Queens, N.Y.) layup off Brandon Hickson's (Sr./Columbia, S.C.) assist with 5:35 remaining. But 29 percent shooting from the floor ultimately did in the Falcons, whose record is now 9-3 overall and 4-2 in the CIAA.

Shaun Washum (Jr./Norfolk, Va.) led the Falcons with nine points. Justin Ramsey sparked the Panthers (8-5 overall, 6-3 CIAA) with 11 points and Brandon Byerson added 10.

The Falcons visit Virginia State University on Monday (Jan. 11) in Petersburg, Va., for a CIAA contest. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
