Armstrong Atlantic Topple Falcons, 82-61

Boxscore

Behind 14 points apiece from Jesse Wheeler and Chris Vanlandingham, Armstrong Atlantic State University defeated the visiting Falcons of Saint Augustine's College, 82-61 at Alumni Arena. This was just the second meeting between both schools with the Pirates winning both contests.

Collectively, the Falcons (1-6) doubled their first half point total in the second stanza with 41 points, but it was a case of too little, too late. The Pirates built an insurmountable lead in the first half which saw SAC trail 44-20 at intermission.

In his first game as a Falcon, Matthew McMillan was the sole player in double figures with 10 points. McMillan also notched five rebounds, three steals and a block. Redshirt freshman Chris Johnson (Hampton, Va.) led all players with 11 rebounds.

The Falcons will turn their attention to the Bobcats of Georgia College and State University in the final game of the Hampton Inn & Suites Holiday Classic. The Bobcats (6-2) defeated Barton College earlier by a score of 89-80. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
