Boxscore

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Saint Augustine's University couldn't keep pace on offense against Lynn University in a 75-61 men's basketball non-conference defeat on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.

The Falcons (5-3 overall), whose two-game win streak was snapped, shot a respectable 46 percent but Lynn (4-3) scorched the nets for 57 percent including 50 percent behind the three-point line. Lynn connected on 11 of 22 three-point attempts and outscored the Falcons 26-18 in the paint.

Guard Percy Woods (Sr./Washington, D.C.) of the Falcons led all scorers with 19 points and forward Tyquan Stroman (Sr./Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) netted 17 points. Woods and Stroman kept pace with Lynn's outside shooters, combining for 8 of 10 three-pointers, but the rest of the team made 1 of 9 threes. The Falcons shot 47 percent from three-point distance.

Guard Joel Kindred (Jr./Raleigh, NC) added 10 points for the Falcons, but the rest of the team was cold. Only six players scored for the Falcons. Slobodan Miljanic of Lynn led four double-figure scorers with 18 points. He made 4 of 8 shots behind the arc.

Lynn shot 60 percent to open a 37-28 halftime lead. The Falcons closed within five early in the second half, but Lynn steadily pulled away. The Falcons fell behind by double digits in the second half despite shooting 52 percent.

“We got behind, made a few runs at them, but once we threatened they answered with a big shot,” St. Aug Head Coach Lonnie Blow, Jr. said. “They played well offensively and defensively. For whatever reason, we didn't play our normal game. Once we got behind, we tried to do too much to catch up. We rushed things.”

The Falcons will look to bounce back against Palm Beach Atlantic University on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 in Boca Raton, Fla. Game time is 4 p.m.
