Jon Kindred Ties Career High In Loss To Livingstone

SALISBURY, N.C. – Junior forward Jon Kindred (Raleigh, N.C.) tied a career-high with 21 points for Saint Augustine's College in an 81-64 CIAA men's basketball loss to Livingstone College Saturday (Feb. 18) at New Trent Gymnasium.

The Falcons fell to 13-11 overall, 8-6 CIAA and 3-5 in the Southern Division.  The Blue Bears are now 8-15, 4-10 CIAA and 3-5 in the Southern Division.

Kindred scored 19 points in the second half on 8-for-13 shooting including 3-for-5 behind the three-point arc. No other Falcon scored in double figures as the Blue Bears stretched a 28-19 halftime lead to 57-38 with seven minutes left in the game.

Sophomore guard Tyron Laughinghouse (Greenville, N.C.) finished with nine points off the bench. Sophomore guards Chris Rhodes (Greenville, S.C.) and Joel Kindred (Raleigh, N.C.) also came off the bench to score eight points each.

Reserve Nasir Austin led the Blue Bears with 14 points. Greg Henry and Quintin Redfern both added 11 points for the Blue Bears, who shot 55.6 percent for the game including 63.6 percent in the second half.

The Falcons completed the away portion of their schedule. They finish the regular season at home inside Emery Gymnasium next week against Johnson C. Smith University on Monday (Feb. 20) and crosstown rival Shaw Thursday (Feb. 23). Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
