Falcons, Lady Falcons Host Livingstone on Senior Night Wednesday

RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University will host Livingstone College in a CIAA men's and women's basketball doubleheader on Senior Night at Emery Gymnasium on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. The starting time is 5:30 p.m. for the women's contest and 7:30 p.m. for the men's game. This is the final home game of the regular season for the Falcons and Lady Falcons.

Tickets are $12 for general admission. The cost is $8 for children ages 6 to 12, visiting students with valid ID, faculty and staff, and military personnel. St. Aug students with valid ID get in free as well as children ages 5 and under. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

WAUG-TV will televise the basketball doubleheader on Time Warner Cable 168 in Raleigh, N.C. WAUG is a television and radio station owned and operated by Saint Augustine's University.

Five seniors will play their final home game Wednesday. The women's seniors are forward Victoria Davis (San Diego, CA) and guard Ebony Spencer. The men's seniors are center Jonathan Crawley (Richmond, VA), guard-forward Joel Kindred (Raleigh, NC) and center Aru Kok (Perth, Australia). They will be recognized between the men's and women's games along with cheerleader Ashley Ross (Charlotte, NC).

The Lady Falcons (2-6 Southern Division, 6-8 CIAA, 11-12 overall) are led by sophomore guards Regime McCombs (Greenville, SC) and Porscha Walton (Chesterfield, VA) and sophomore forward Terri Jacobs (McDonough, GA). McCombs averages a team-high 12.9 points and Walton averages 10.3 points. Jacobs averages 9.1 points and collects 9.0 rebounds. The Lady Falcons amassed a season high in steals (19) and turnovers forced (35) in a 74-47 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Monday, February 17.

Livingstone (3-5 Southern Division, 7-7 CIAA, 12-12 overall) is led by guards Cierra York (15.4 ppg), Ashley Walker (12.0 ppg) and Tiffany Evans (11.4). One game separates the No. 3 through No. 6 teams in the Southern Division including the Lady Falcons and Lady Blue Bears.

The Falcons (1-7 Southern Division, 4-10 CIAA, 11-13 overall) are sparked by junior guard Amere May (South Haven, MI) in addition to Kindred and Crawley. May leads the Falcons in scoring with a 19.2 average and Kindred averages 14.1 points. Crawley averages 11.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and a league-high 2.1 blocks. He leads the conference with a 62 percent shooting percentage.

Livingstone (7-1 Southern Division, 10-4 CIAA, 17-6 overall) is atop the division standings by one game. They are carried by the high-scoring backcourt duo of Mark Thomas (21.4 ppg) and Jody Hill (19.1 ppg). On Monday, February 17, the Blue Bears outraced Fayetteville State University 116-101.
