Falcons, Lady Falcons Host The Lincoln (Pa.) University In Basketball Doubleheader Saturday (Jan. 10)

RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University will host The Lincoln (Pa.) University in a men's and women's basketball doubleheader on the Harvey D. Heartley, Sr. Court at Emery Gymnasium on Saturday, January 10, 2015. Tip-off is 2 p.m. for the women and 4 p.m. for the men.
 
Ticket prices are $13 for general admission, and $8.50 for visiting college students with ID, faculty and staff, military personnel with ID and children ages 6 to 12. Admission is free for Saint Augustine's University students with ID and children ages 5 and under with one playing adult.

The Lady Falcons (2-1 CIAA, 8-4 Overall) are on a roll, winning six of their last seven games including an impressive 84-74 victory over Bowie State University on Thursday. They are looking for their second home victory in three days against the Lady Lions, who are also hot. The Lady Lions (2-1 CIAA, 10-3 Overall) have won four of their last five games including a 57-53 win on the road against Fayetteville State University on Thursday.
 
The contest features two of the highest scoring teams in the CIAA. The Lady Falcons rank third in the conference, averaging 75.8 points per game. Leading the way are four players averaging double figures. Guard Regime McCombs (Jr./Greenville, SC) is the top scorer with a 13.9 average followed by guards Porscha Walton (Jr./Chesterfield, VA) and Jeanne-Marie Wilson (Jr./Temple Hills, MD), who are averaging 12.9 and 12.8 points, respectively. After posting double-doubles in consecutive games, forward Terri Jacobs (Jr./McDonough, GA) averages 11.2 points and 9.3 rebounds.
 
Five Lady Falcons scored in double figures against Bowie State. Walton scored 19 points and Jacobs had 18 points and 14 rebounds. Both McCombs and Wilson scored 16 points apiece and forward Briana Arrington (Sr./Richmond, VA) scored 10 points off the bench.
 
The Lady Lions rely on veteran forward Zephrah Pam, who averages a team-high 12.1 points and 7.9 rebounds. Guard Amani Clark averages 11.4 points and guard Courtney Smith averages 11 points for the Lady Lions, who rank fourth in the CIAA in points per game (74.2).
 
On the men's side, the Falcons (0-3 CIAA, 6-7 Overall) are aiming to snap a three-game losing skid on Saturday. The Falcons are shooting well from the perimeter; they rank fifth in the CIAA in three-point shooting percentage (35.7).
 
Sparking the Falcons is guard Raheem Jolliffe (Sr./Fayetteville, NC), who averages 17 points, which is third-highest in the conference. Backcourt mate Anthony Gaskins (So./Greenville, SC) is a do-it-all guard who averages 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals. Gaskins pumped in 20 points and Jolliffe added 10 points in an 86-66 loss to Bowie State on Thursday. Forward Quincy January (Fr./Atlanta, GA) is effective around the basket which is reflected in his 67.1 field goal percentage. January, who ranks third in the CIAA in field goal percentage, was 5 of 5 from the floor for 10 points against Bowie State.
 
The Falcons will face a Lincoln squad which ranks fourth in the CIAA in points allowed (73.1). The Lions (3-1 CIAA, 9-5 Overall) also rank third in rebounding margin (6.2). Only one player – guard Chaz Sharp – averages double figures (10.2), but he is one of six players who average over eight points.
