SALISBURY, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University visits Livingstone College in a CIAA men's and women's basketball doubleheader Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at New Trent Gymnasium. The women's contest begins at 2 p.m. followed by the men's game at 4 p.m.
The Lady Falcons are 2-6 in the Southern Division and 11-12 overall. The Lady Blue Bears are 7-1 in the division and 22-1 overall.
The Falcons' men are 4-4 in the Southern Division and 11-13 overall. The Blue Bears are 5-3 in the Southern Division and 14-9 overall.
Guard Regime McCombs (Jr./Greenville, SC) leads the Lady Falcons with a 13.4 scoring average and guard Porscha Walton (Jr./Chesterfield, VA) averages 13.1 points. Guard Cierra York paces the Lady Blue Bears with a 12.7 scoring average.
For the men, guard Raheem Jolliffe (Sr./Fayetteville, NC) of the Falcons leads the CIAA with a 17.6 scoring average. Guard Anthony Gaskins (So./Greenville, NC) averages 14.3 points and forward Quincy January (Fr./Atlanta, GA) averages 10.8 points.
Gaskins was named CIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week and January, who leads the CIAA in field goal percentage (65.3), was selected CIAA Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. Gaskins was also chosen BoxToRow National Men's Basketball Player of the Week. January is a four-time CIAA Rookie of the Week winner, the most of all CIAA freshmen this season. Guard Eric Dubose leads the Blue Bears with a 16.0 scoring average.
