Falcons, Lady Falcons Host Fayetteville State University In Basketball Doubleheader Saturday (Feb. 21)

RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University hosts Fayetteville State University in the last men's and women's basketball doubleheader of the season for the Falcons and Lady Falcons. The doubleheader takes place on the Harvey D. Heartley, Sr. Court at Emery Gymnasium on Saturday, February 21, 2015. The women's contest begins at 2 p.m. followed by the men's game at 4 p.m.
 
Ticket prices are $13 for general admission, and $8.50 for visiting college students with ID, faculty and staff, military personnel with ID and children ages 6 to 12. Admission is free for Saint Augustine's University students with ID and children ages 5 and under with one paying adult.

If you can't attend the doubleheader, WAUG is televising both games on Time Warner Cable 1231 and digital television channel 8 in the Raleigh area. WAUG will also live stream both contests on its website www.waug-network.com. WAUG is a campus commercial radio and television station owned and operated by Saint Augustine's University.
 
Twelve student-athletes will be honored on Senior Day. They are Lady Falcons' basketball players Briana Arrington (Sr./Richmond, VA), Li'Esa Barnett (Sr./Raeford, NC), Raneka Dunaway (Sr./Richmond, VA) and Jeanne-Marie Wilson (Redshirt Jr./Temple Hills, MD); Falcons' basketball players Tayron Gibson (Sr./Alexandria, VA), Raheem Jolliffe (Sr./Fayetteville, NC), John Koger (Sr./Greensboro, NC) and Ronald Owens (Sr./Brandywine, MD) in addition to student assistant coach Kyle Saunders; and cheerleaders Diamonique Brooks, Shaia Scott and Tayrn Roseboro.
 
In the men's game, the Falcons (4-5 Southern Division, 11-14 overall) can finish third in the Southern Division and earn a CIAA Tournament quarterfinal berth on Thursday, February 26, with a victory over the Broncos (4-5 Southern Division, 14-12 overall). Both teams are in a three-way tie for third place with Johnson C. Smith University. The Falcons swept Johnson C. Smith in the season series and lost to the Broncos 77-75 in Fayetteville, N.C., in January.
 
The Falcons are led by Jolliffe, the CIAA scoring leader, and forward Quincy January (Fr./Atlanta, GA). Jolliffe was named to the All-CIAA Team and January was named CIAA Rookie of the Year on Friday. Jolliffe averages 17.8 points per game and January leads the CIAA in field goal percentage (65.0). Guard Anthony Gaskins (So./Greenville, NC) averages 14.2 points per game for the Falcons. The Broncos are paced by Joshua Dawson, who averages 14.1 points and a league-high 7.2 assists.
 
The Lady Falcons (2-7 Southern Division, 11-13 overall) are looking to avenge a 78-62 loss in January to the Lady Broncos (1-8 Southern Division, 8-16 overall). Guards Regime McCombs (Jr./Greenville, SC) and Porscha Walton (Jr./Chesterfield, VA) average 13.3 points and 13.1 points, respectively, for the Lady Falcons. Forward Terri Jacobs (Jr./McDonough, GA) averages 11 points and 9.4 rebounds, and Wilson, a guard, averages 10.8 points. The Lady Broncos are sparked by CIAA Defensive Player of the Year Deja Middleton, who leads the conference in blocks per game (2.5).
