About the Falcons' Head Coach
MarQus Johnson is in his second season as the Falcons' head men's basketball coach. In his first season, Johnson coached guard Raheem Jolliffe to All-CIAA honors and forward Quincy January to CIAA Rookie of the Year honors. Johnson was elevated to head coach after two seasons as assistant men's basketball coach for the Falcons from 2012 to 2014. He was previously an assistant coach at Saint Augustine's University from 2008 to 2010. In the 2009-10 season, Johnson helped direct the Falcons to their second CIAA championship in school history. That squad advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament and earned a national top 25 ranking.

The Falcons are third in the CIAA and 22nd nationally in Division II in offensive rebounds per game (14.5).
January Leads The CIAA In Rebounding
Sophomore forward Quincy January leads the CIAA in rebounds per game (9.2). He is tied for fifth in the CIAA in blocks (13) and fifth in field goal percentage (58.8). January is the team's leading scorer with a 16.2 average. He is a Preseason All-CIAA pick who was the league' rookie of the year last season. The high-leaping forward has six double-doubles, which ranks 16th nationally in Division II.
Gaskins Among CIAA Top 10 Three-Point Shooters
Preseason All-CIAA pick Anthony Gaskins (Jr./Greenville, NC) is picking up where he left off last season. The talented guard is tied for ninth in the CIAA in three-pointers made (20). He is the team's second-leading scorer with a 14.4 average despite missing four games due to injury.
Crawford Steady In The Backcourt
Senior guard Keith Crawford (Richmond, VA) is third on the team in points per game (12.3) and leads the team in assists per game (3.3). He also averages 3.9 rebounds per game. Crawford was named CIAA Player of the Week this season.
About The Opponent
Justin Beck leads Bowie State with a 15.5 scoring average. He is one of four Bulldogs scoring in double figures. The trio of Jordan Goodman, Julian Livingston and Miles Jackson average 13.7, 13.1 and 10.3 points, respectively. Jackson averages 6.3 rebounds and Michael Briscoe averages 4.3 assists per game for the Bulldogs, who lead the CIAA in free throw percentage (75.2) and three-point field goal attempts per game (22.2). The head coach is Darrell Brooks.
