The Falcons Will Face Alderson Broaddus On Thursday And Davis & Elkins On Saturday
RALEIGH, NC (Nov 30) – Beginning Thursday, Dec. 1, Saint Augustine's University will play two men's basketball games in three days in West Virginia.
The first opponent for the Falcons will be Alderson Broaddus University at Rex Pyles Arena in Philippi, W.Va. starting at 7:30 p.m. After the Alderson Broaddus game, the Falcons travel to Elkins, W.Va. for a 2 p.m. contest against Davis & Elkins College at the McDonnell Center on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The Falcons (3-4 overall) will be playing their eighth and ninth consecutive away games since the season started. They are led by the outside-inside tandem of Preseason All-CIAA performers Anthony Gaskins (Sr./Greenville, NC) and Quincy January (Jr./Atlanta, GA).
Gaskins, a sharpshooting guard, leads the team and ranks third in the CIAA in points per game (19.1). He was named CIAA Player of the Week after scoring his 1,000th career point and making the All-Tournament team last weekend at the Daytona Mitsubishi/Kia Shootout in Daytona Beach, Fla.
January, a high-leaping forward, is second on the team in points per game (16.0) and third in the conference in rebounds per game (9.7). In addition to being a productive scorer and rebounder, January leads the CIAA in blocks (14) and leads the team in steals per game (1.6).
Both Gaskins and January are backed by a solid supporting cast. Guards Kenneth Collins (Jr./Clayton, NC) and Kasey Bryant (Jr./Raleigh, NC) average 9.6 and 9.1 points, respectively. Collins also averages nearly four assists per game.
The Falcons are looking to win both non-conference contests against two teams who have one combined win this season. Alderson Broaddus (1-5 overall) averages 67.7 points per game and gives up 79.7 points while Davis & Elkins (0-6 overall) scores at 82.2 points a clip but allows 89.8 points per game. The Falcons are limiting teams to 68.4 points per game which is second-lowest in the CIAA. They are averaging 68.6 points per game.
Alderson Broaddus is led by forwards Exzavier Cooper and Dorrell Foster with scoring averages of 13.0 points and 12.8 points, respectively. Forward Mike Mitchell averages 8.8 points and 6.5 rebounds while Cooper and Foster both average 5.8 rebounds.
Kevin Bracy-Davis, a forward, paces Davis & Elkins with 21.0 points per game and he averages 8.8 rebounds. Guards Kevin Simpson and Wesley Sprinkle average 12.3 points and 10.0 points, respectively, and center Rickenjee Bellevue leads Davis & Elkins in rebounds per game (9.2).
