The Falcons Make Their First Appearance In Emery Gymnasium This Season At 4 p.m.
RALEIGH, NC (Dec 8) – On Saturday, Dec. 10, Saint Augustine's University will host Claflin University in its home opener at Emery Gymnasium on the Harvey D. Heartley, Sr. Court at 4 p.m.

The Falcons (4-5 overall) will make their season's debut on campus after starting the season with nine away games. They face a familiar foe in Claflin (4-3 overall), which played the Falcons on Nov. 21 in Orangeburg, S.C.
In the first meeting, Anthony Gaskins (Sr./Greenville, NC) scored a game-high 24 points for the Falcons in an 85-78 loss to the Panthers. Quincy January (Jr./Atlanta, GA) added 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals and Kenneth Collins (Jr./Clayton, NC) added 12 points, six assists and four rebounds. Kasey Bryant (Jr./Raleigh, NC) chipped in 10 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Gaskins leads the Falcons in scoring with a 19.3 average and January averages 16.1 points and a team-high 9.9 rebounds. Collins is the third-leading scorer with an 11.9 average and leads the team in assists with a 3.6 average.
The Falcons, who rank second in the CIAA in points allowed per game (70.0), will look to exact revenge against the Panthers, who rank sixth nationally in Division II in blocked shots per game (6.3). Ryan McNeill-Moses paces the Panthers with a 16.3 scoring average and a 5.7 rebounding average. Trevor Dantzler, who scored 21 points in the first matchup against the Falcons, averages 10.1 points and Tristan Thompson averages 9.3 points and 3.6 assists.
After the Claflin game, the Falcons will begin conference play in the CIAA on Tuesday, Dec. 13 against Virginia State University in Ettrick, Va. at 7 p.m. It will be the first of three league games for the Falcons next week before the holiday break.
