Raleigh-Durham, N.C. Viewers Can Watch The 4 p.m. Game On Time Warner Cable/Spectrum Channels 185 and 1250
RALEIGH, NC (Jan 26) – On Saturday, Jan. 28, the CIAA men's basketball contest between Saint Augustine's University and Fayetteville State University at Capel Arena in Fayetteville, N.C. will be televised nationally on the ASPiRE TV Network. The starting time is 4 p.m.
Fans in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C. viewing area can watch the game on Time Warner Cable/Spectrum channels 185 and 1250. WRAZ/MeTV will also air the contest on channel 50.2.
Saturday's contest is crucial for the Falcons (10-11 overall), who are tied for fifth in the Southern Division at 1-3. They have lost their last three games including a tough 88-85 overtime defeat at home to Livingstone College on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Despite their recent slump, the Falcons are only two games out of first place with six contests remaining.
Forward Quincy January (Jr./Atlanta, GA) and guard Anthony Gaskins (Sr./Greenville, NC) continue to stand out for the Falcons. January recorded 17 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to go along with three blocks and three steals while Gaskins scored a game-high 26 points against the Blue Bears. The double-double was the 10th this season for January, who averages 16.9 points and a league-best 10 rebounds. He ranks sixth nationally in Division II in double-doubles. Gaskins averages 16 points and has made 53 three-pointers this season.
This is the first of two meetings this season between the Falcons and Broncos (8-10 overall), who are tied for third in the Southern Division at 2-2. The Broncos edged Shaw University 72-70 on the road Wednesday to snap a two-game losing skid. They are led by guard Josh Bryant and forward Michael Tyson, who average 12.1 points and 10.5 points, respectively.
The Falcons are directed by Head Coach MarQus Johnson. The Broncos are guided by Head Coach Ken Spencer, who was the Falcons head coach from 2010 to 2012.
The men's game will be the second of a basketball doubleheader at Capel Arena on Saturday. The women's game between both schools will begin at 1 p.m.
