SAU Hosts Fayetteville State In Basketball Doubleheader Saturday On Senior Day (Feb. 18)


The Women's Game Starts At 2 p.m. Followed By The Men's Contest At 4 p.m.
 
RALEIGH, NC (Feb 17) – On Saturday, Feb. 18, Saint Augustine's University (SAU) will host Fayetteville State University in a CIAA basketball doubleheader on Senior Day at Emery Gymnasium. The women's contest starts at 2 p.m. followed by the men's game at 4 p.m.
 
Ticket prices for the doubleheader are $13 for adults and $8.50 for faculty, staff, senior citizens, military personnel with ID, visiting college students with ID and children ages 6-12. The doubleheader is free for SAU students and children ages five and under (one per paying adult).

The SAU basketball seniors will be honored between the men's and women's games. The women's seniors are Teeria Vaughan (Waterboro, SC), Shakeisha Washington (Atlanta, GA) and manager Keshell Evans (Richmond, VA), and the men's seniors are Anthony Gaskins (Greenville, NC), Andre Stanley (Virginia Beach, VA) and manager Naeem Creighton-Bey (Raleigh, NC).
 
The contests ends the regular season for all four teams. The CIAA Tournament begins Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Bojangles Coliseum and will move to the Spectrum Center (formerly Time Warner Cable Arena) in Charlotte, N.C. on Thursday, Feb. 23. The tournament concludes Saturday, Feb. 25 with the men's and women's championship games.
 
The Falcons men enter Saturday's game 2-7 in the Southern Division and 11-15 overall while the Broncos are 4-5 in the Southern Division and 10-14 overall. The Lady Falcons are 0-9 in the Southern Division and 3-24 overall while the Lady Broncos are 3-6 in the Southern Division and 7-17 overall.
 
Guard-forward Kaaliya Williams (Fr./Richmond, VA) leads the Lady Falcons in scoring (12.4 points per game) and rebounding (4.3). Guard-forward Yakima Clifton and guard Breona Jones both average 10 points for the Lady Broncos.
 
Forward Quincy January (Sr./Atlanta, GA) is the Falcons' leading scorer (16.5) and rebounder (10.1), and he also leads the CIAA in rebounding. Gaskins, a guard, averages 15.6 points and is second in the CIAA in three-pointers made (65). Guard Josh Bryant leads the Broncos in scoring (11.8) and guard Joshua Dawson averages 10.8 points and 5.5 assists.
